Track History
Woodford Glen Speedway opened in 1974, succeeding the earlier Kaiapoi Speedway. The 410-metre clay track has become the premier South Island speedway venue. It hosts NZ Superstock and Stockcar Championships on rotation. The 50th anniversary was celebrated in 2024 with a commemorative book. Third-generation fans and competitors still attend — a testament to the venue's deep roots in Canterbury's racing community.
