SpeedwayHub NZ is run by EliteSpec. It is free to use and free to be listed on. These are the rules, in plain English.
Race dates can change, and they do
Everything on this site comes from clubs: their calendars, their posters, their Facebook pages. Meetings get moved, times change, and a track can be called off at four in the afternoon because of rain.
Check with the club before you travel. Every track page links straight to them. We do our best to keep dates right and we publish our mistakes at /corrections, but we are not the club and we cannot promise a meeting will run.
Our rain-off alerts are a help, not a guarantee. They depend on somebody telling us, and email can be delayed or filtered.
Photos you send us
When you send a photo you are telling us that the person who took it is happy for it to be published here with the credit you gave. We ask you who took it because we credit photographers by name, and we keep your answer on file.
You keep the copyright. You are giving us permission to show it on this site and to use it to promote the page it appears on. Nothing more. We will not sell it, licence it to anyone else, or strip the credit off it.
If your photo is on this site and should not be, tell us and it comes down. No argument, no process. We have already removed images for exactly this reason. Email contact@speedwayhub.nz.
Stories and corrections you send us
You keep what you wrote. You are giving us permission to publish it here, with the byline you asked for. We may edit for length, spelling and clarity, and we may decide not to publish it at all.
Write about the racing. Do not send anything defamatory, anything that is not yours, or anything you would not say to the person's face at the gate.
A person reads everything before it goes up. Nothing published on this site arrives automatically.
Club and driver listings
Every track, driver and team page is free and stays free. We do not take a cut of your gate, we do not charge ticket fees, and track pages carry the club's own sponsors rather than our advertising.
A club, driver or team can claim their page and run it themselves. We check every claim by hand before handing anything over. If you want your listing changed or removed entirely, ask and we will do it.
Accounts and alerts
Rain-off alerts need an email address and nothing else. Every alert email has a link that changes or stops them. We do not sell or share your address. What we store and why is in the privacy policy.
If you claim a listing you get an account with a password. Keep it to yourself. You are responsible for what is posted from it.
Getting it wrong
We try hard to be accurate and we are openly not perfect. When we get something wrong we fix it and write down what happened at /corrections.
The site is provided as-is. We are not liable for a wasted trip, a missed meeting, or anything else that follows from information here being out of date or wrong. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act or the Fair Trading Act.
Our own content
Words and pages we wrote are ours. Photos belong to whoever took them. Club names, logos and event names belong to the clubs. Machine-readable data is published openly at /data and you are welcome to use it; a link back is appreciated, not demanded.
Changes, and getting hold of us
If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. New Zealand law applies.
