NZ Streetstocks 2026 Finals - Nelson Speedway
Track History
Nelson Speedway traces its origins to 1967 when local enthusiasts formed the Tasman Car Scramble Club. The first official races were held on 22 December 1968. Clay mixed with cement was added in 1970-71, and lights were installed in 1974 enabling night racing. In 1988 Nelson hosted its first Speedway World Championship qualifying round for solo motorcycles. The 354-metre track hosts a wide variety of classes. The 50th anniversary was celebrated during the 2018 season.
