Daniel Thomas Dominates to Win NZ Sprintcar Championship
Daniel Thomas (2NZ) has won the New Zealand Sprintcar Championship at Central Motor Speedway in Cromwell, leading all 25 laps in a dominant display.
Racing on January 10 at the Central Otago venue, Thomas kept the prestigious title on home soil despite a strong American challenge. Joey Myers Jr (3NZ) finished second, with USA racer Kaleb Montgomery (95US) rounding out the podium in third.
American visitor Jonathan Allard (4USA) finished fifth, while Zackary Sokol (47T) placed fourth. The result confirmed Thomas as one of New Zealand's premier Sprintcar talents, backing up his form from Baypark earlier in the season where he won multiple feature races.
The NZ Sprintcar Championship continues to attract international attention, with American drivers making the trip south to test themselves against Kiwi talent on the tight Central Motor Speedway circuit.
