Canterbury Crushers Take Stockcar Teams Title South

The Canterbury Crushers have won the New Zealand Stockcar Teams Championship at Paradise Valley Speedway in Rotorua on March 7-8, denying the home-town Rotorua Rascals a rare three-peat.

The Rascals had won the previous two titles and were heavily favoured in front of their passionate Rotorua supporters, but the Crushers produced a clinical performance to take the championship south to Canterbury.

The NZ Stockcar Teams Championship is one of the most emotionally charged events on the speedway calendar, with regional pride and team loyalty creating an atmosphere that rivals any sporting event in New Zealand.
