Tragedy at Beachlands Speedway

The New Zealand speedway community is mourning after a driver was fatally injured in a crash during the Modified Thunder event at Beachlands Speedway near Dunedin on Saturday evening.

Emergency services responded to the two-vehicle incident at approximately 7:10pm but were unable to save the driver.

Police and WorkSafe are investigating. Speedway NZ has confirmed a formal investigation is underway.
