Driver Killed at Beachlands Speedway

A driver died after a two-vehicle crash at Beachlands Speedway in Waldronville, near Dunedin, on the evening of Saturday 28 March. Police were called at 7:10pm and the driver could not be saved.

It was the second night of Modified Thunder, a clay track meeting at the venue.

A Police Serious Crash Unit examined the scene. WorkSafe was notified and made initial inquiries. Speedway New Zealand said it was also looking into the crash.
